The Reviews Are In...
Emergent Tree has worked with our district to help align Tier 1 and Tier 2 [ - utilizing the Universal Screener Software] to align practices across our elementary campuses. We benefit from their extensive behavioral knowledge, a clear process to implement school-wide expectations and intervention, and their commitment to helping all campuses by providing support based on the individual needs of campuses, staff, and students. We appreciate having a true partnership with them.
Our district uses the Universal Behavior Screener to help to proactively identify students who might need additional behavioral, social and emotional support. We use the data to look at campus trends as well as teacher trends to be able to provide additional support as needed. We also use the screener to monitor students' progress in following safe, respectful, and responsible expectations. Teachers are able to rate their students using the easy to understand rubric.  The Screener provides us with clear and easy to read reports  to review, which we can then to make a plan for student and teacher success.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to complete a screening?

Screening times varies based on the number of students in a class.  Typically an elementary teacher could screen all their students in 20 minutes or less. A secondary teacher with more students may require additional time. Screener data is automatically saved so a teacher can take a break and come back at any time to continue the screening process.

Can multiple teachers complete the screener on each student?

Yes. Each campus will pick a screening model to determine what teachers will screen what students. Most elementary campuses screen just using the homeroom teacher. Some secondary campuses like to have additional teachers participate such as an academic teacher and a non-academic staff.

Do students need to be present during the screening process?

Since teachers will be screening based on a rubric aligned to campus core-values or school-wide expectations, the Emergent Tree Screener does not require students to be present during the screening process.

Who can view/use the screening data?

Viewers can be customized by the campus and district. Each teacher will only see their own screening data. Campus leaders can assign staff that can download and view the campus-wide data. District staff can assign users that can view all or some of the campuses data in the district as well as download the district-wide report.
